- Born 15 April 1957 in Bègles (near Bordeaux - France), he arrived in Paris in 1977 and worked for Barclays studio as a pianist and composer.
- In 1980 he met French saxaphonist Francis Bourrec with who he toured until 1987 in clubs and festivals (Jazz aux Ulis, Printemps de Bourges,Salon de la Musique,etc...)
- He played for many years with French singer Claire-Lise Vincent and toured with her in France and abroad (jazz clubs & festivals: Jazz en Essone, Jazz Valley and in 1990 the“Memphis in May Festival” in Memphis Tenessee (USA).
- He played also with American soloists Arnett Cobb, Bud Shank and Benny Bailey (among others) and French soloists like Sylvain Beuf and Jean-Claude Fohrenbach.
- In 1993, he met guitarist Gilles Clément and drummer Éric Dervieu and started focusing on Hammond organ. This trio did a lot of concerts for Jeunesses Musicales de France and played at the famous French jazz festivals of Clermont- Ferrand, Montpellier and Guitar Masters in Pau (1994).
- He also played, as an organist, with Eric Alexander, Houston Person, Marc Fosset, André Villeger, etc... He participated also in several “Ruées vers l'Orgue” (Hammond Battles) with Stephan Patry and Rhoda Scott.
- Since 1999 he is a member of Mister Hyde with which he recorded in September 1999 (concerts in Petit Opportun and New Morning, two famous Paris jazz clubs). Since then he continues his piano activities (Jazz in Nice 2001) while concentrating on the Hammond …
- Philippe joined Boogaloo Baby in 2002, where he brings his warm, funky and percussive style as well as successfull and stylish compositions (Deffa's Walk, Exit)
and his good sense of humour ...
